The American Women's Club of Korea is a member of FAWCO, a United Nations accredited NGO in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC).
FAWCO - The Federation of American Women's Club's Overseas. The mission of FAWCO is three-fold. First, FAWCO serves as a resource and channel of information among its members - aproximately 15,000 individuals worldwide. Second, FAWCO provides a voice for American women abroad and to support the rights of all Americans worldwide. Last but certainly not least, FAWCO contributes actively to the global community with a specific focus on education, the natural and human environment, multicultural understanding and international goodwill

In 1967, the Federation of American Women¡¯s Clubs Overseas established a foundation to carry on FAWCO¡¯s long tradition of donating to relief organizations, as well as providing educational support to members and their families. The Foundation¡¯s sole purpose is to put into action the Federation of American Women¡¯s Clubs Overseas¡¯ stated interest in the global community by specifically aiding charitable, scientific and educational programs and supporting the rights of women and children throughout the world.

For those of you returning to the United States, you may wish to consider becoming involved with FAUSA - FAWCO Alumnae USA. This group is especially helpful for expatriates returning to the USA. The mission of FAUSA is to facilitate the repatriation experience of its members and to help them maintain their international ties in order to bring about a better understanding between the US and other nations.
